STOCKBRIDGES' ACHIEVEMENTS

 

Senior Football team won the"Fettes Cup",the first time in 40 years

 

Pupils represented our school at the Area Strings Concert in May

 Individual and class fund raising intiatives together with Stockbridge Church suceeded in raising money to build a to a toilet block at our links school in Malawi.

 P6 took part in a Press Gang competition for young Fringe reporters and four won!

                            £10 000 grant won from Awards For All
                            to develop our garden.

 Thinking Skills in Primary 1,2 and 3 filmed HMI on developing creativity for GLOW website. To be launched at SETT in September.

 

Stockbridge School football team also won the St Bernards'Cup. 

   

Pupil panel visited Stockbridge library to work with librarians on refurbishment ideas. They also piloted a national survey of pupil councils.

 The professor McGovern prize for best overall achievement and best effort in primary six were awarded to Joe Colquhoum and Chloe Herman.

 

The friends of Stockbridge Expressive Arts Quaich

for P4 to P7 was awarded to Mia Scott.

 

  The Commemorative School Board  Citizenship       Trophey was awarded to Tomiwa Folurunso in P7.

A whole school art display at Waterstone Bookstore George Street for the launch of Harry Potter.

 Scottish Opera workshop for P5 - P7 followed by a performance of The Legend of Slim McBride for parents.

 Whole team won runners up Inter scholastic cup  

Highly commended award by Standard Life for Health work in 05/06 in category of Quality of Life                              

 

 

A group of P5 performed at the Childline Carol Concert in the Usher Hall.

 

Councillor Lesley Hinds, members of Edinburgh Geology Dept and the local press attended the launch of the P7 Geology Board.

 

£2200 raised by families in the sponsored read.

 

 Bookfair raised £475  to buy books for the school library.
